Current project(s)

I am preparing a comparative study of religion and language in Ireland and Prussian Poland from 1795 to 1918 to ascertain to what extent each relationship formed part of a European phenomenon of internal colonialism rather than exceptional experiences or ones that were typical of a global phenomenon. I have also embarked on an examination of Irish attitudes to Poland from the early modern period to the present.
