The Salem Public Library digital photograph collections include over 10,000 images of Oregon dating from the mid 1800's with special focus on the city of Salem and other Western Oregon communities. The complete collections can be searched and viewed online. The collections include photographs from private collections donated or loaned to the library for digitizing. The Ben Maxwell Collection is the principal donated collection of over 5000 photographs from the estate of Salem photographer Mr. Ben Maxwell.
