I’m a classical archaeologist and art historian, now working mostly on the history of scholarship (antiquarianism and archaeology, especially in Germany and Italy), the cultural history of the early art market, history of collecting and collections, and early modern reception of ancient art and culture. I’m currently working on a book about the widely influential scholar and collector Philipp von Stosch (1691-1757), and on a longer journal article on antiquarian networks in early 18th-century Europe.
