"CONIH as a research centre in contemporary history is established by the University of Southern Denmark and the Archives of Danish Occupation History 1940-1945. Through this mutual initiative the two institutions wish to advance the research in European conflict and identity history after 1900.In the field of conflict history, CONIH will focus especially on the non-military aspects of war and occupation in the 20th century."
