Department of History [Union College Schenectady]

"The History Department is vitally involved in all levels of the College curriculum. As is apparent from the list of faculty that follows, the department is large enough to offer a varied and rich selection of offerings to students taking courses as majors or as electives. History is an important element of the core curriculum and the department is responsible for at least half of the required sophomore research seminars required for graduation." Courses are for example: "1. Science, Medicine, and Technology in Culture. A foundation course based on case studies ordered chronologically from prehistory to the present. Each of the sciences (biology, chemistry, computer science, geology, mathematics and physics) and branches of engineering (computer, electrical, and mechanical engineering) will be represented. 2. Construction for Humanity. An interdisciplinary introduction to the technology of construction and the social uses of building by humans." If you have any questions you can contact Mark Walker (Professor of History) esp. history of science and technology. (walkerm@union.edu)
