This web site was created by students of the Historical Department of the University of Hanover during their courses in 1999/2000. It provides materials and background information on people emigrating from Lower Saxony, Germany, to America in the nineteenth century. In addition, this site provides several digitized sources, statistical information (number of emigrants, emigration routes), and a bibliography.
