The Museum of the Confederacy

The Museum of the Confederacy is "a private, nonprofit institution maintaining the world's largest and most comprehensive collection of military, political and domestic artifacts and art associated with the period of the Confederacy, 1861-1865." It preserves more than 15,000 artifacts, including more than 500 flags from the Confederate armies, navy and government, personal papers, government documents, jounals, letters, rare books, prints and drawings (housed in the Eleanor S. Brockenbrough Library), uniforms, weapons, photographs, and other artifacts concerning the Confederacy and its legacy.
