The project will realize the uncompleted aim of the 'Nineteenth Century Short Title Catalogue', namely to provide increasingly complete listings of British books printed between 1801 - 1919" (NSTC series I, phase I, vol I, 1801-1815. Avero, 1984, p. iv). the project will do this through upgrading catalogue records for University of Wales and other libraries, and combine them in a central online catalogue at the National Library of Wales. This will correct the geographical and linguistic weaknesses in the present NSTC, where there is a lack of Welsh language and Welsh related records."
