"The International Institute for Holocaust Research at Yad Vashem was established as an autonomous academic unit, in order to broaden and deepen research work in the area of the Holocaust, and to encourage post-doctoral and advanced research projects specifically. The Institute is involved in the development and coordination of international research, planning and undertaking of research projects, organization of international conferences, preparation and publication of research works, conference papers, documents and monographs on the Holocaust."
