"How is it possible to grasp processes of decision-making in organizations on a conceptual and theoretical level and then to deal with them on an empirical basis? Within the framework of organizational culture, this paper offers the "Leitbild" concept. As a well advanced research concept, it seems to be particularly suitable for the identification and analytical understanding of structuring and communication processes. Reflecting their findings, the authors put forward the thesis that the significance of single organizations as actors for the creation and coining of technology is diminishing parallel to the formation of an industrial environment. Within this trade context, a certain stock of knowledge is institutionalized and commonly accepted as a "golden standard"."
