The Center was created in 1977 to link University of Kentucky resources with Appalachian communities. Its website has general information on the Center's work and a lot of material on the region, including demographic data, a map collection, lecture notes, a virtual (photo) gallery, and links to Appalachian discussion groups as well as to other sites on the subject.
