The Jackson Davis Collection of African-American Educational Photographs

The Special Collections Department's task is "to digitize, identify, arrange, describe and conserve the ca. 4,500 photographs of African-American educational scenes in the southern United States taken by Jackson Davis during the period 1915-1930 when he was affiliated with the General Education Board in New York, New York." This site offers access to the Jackson Davis Collection database, which contains the digitized photographs as well as "letters, speeches and articles written by Davis along with correspondence written to him."
